Dynamic Drummer and Percussion Prodigy

Lochie Dormer is a versatile and accomplished freelance drummer and percussionist originally from Brisbane, Australia, and now based in London. With a decade of professional experience, he has performed extensively in Brisbane with cover bands at corporate events, weddings, and live music venues. His musical expertise extends to the orchestral realm, where he has worked with prestigious ensembles like the Queensland Camerata, Queensland Pops Orchestra, Ensemble Q, and Southern Cross Soloists.

Lochie graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Percussion from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU) in 2020. During his time at QCGU, he received numerous accolades, including the Jim Massie Memorial Prize and the Barbara Hebden Bursary. He won first place in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Snare Drum Competition and was a finalist in the 4MBS Queensland Young Virtuoso Competition. His commitment to developing his craft was further demonstrated through internships with both the Queensland and Melbourne Symphony Orchestras.

Beyond performance, Lochie is passionate about music education. He has served as a tutor at top schools in Brisbane and, between 2021 and 2023, collaborated with Kaboom Percussion, touring Australia and performing in schools nationwide.
