LUKE FAULKNER

LUKE FAULKNER

Description

Luke was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire in 1991. He started playing the piano when he was 6, and took lessons with John Humphreys at the Birmingham Conservatoire before studying at Chetham’s School of Music with Marie-Louise Taylor; it was here that he gave his concerto debut aged 17.

After Chetham’s, Luke went on to read Music at the University of Oxford, where he was awarded both an academic scholarship and a bursary to study with Nicola Eimer at the Royal Academy of Music. Since graduating from Oxford with a first class degree in 2012 he has perform internationally as well as locally. In August 2014, Luke performed a well-received recital series in the Edinburgh Festival playing, among other things, the complete Chopin ballades, and was invited back in 2015. More recently, Luke has been a prominent contributor to internet recording-library Musopen’s project to record the complete works of Chopin.
