Gemma is a saxophonist from Liverpool, UK. She plays soprano, alto & tenor saxophones, doubling on flute, clarinet & piano.
In 2006 she graduated from Leeds College of Music with a Masters and 1st Class BA (hons) Degree in Music Studies (classical style). She was awarded the John Scheerer Prize for Woodwind, the Michael Grady Award for Composition, The Leeds University Armes Prize, the College Award for Post Graduate Studies and the Robert Tebb Trophy for Outstanding Performance (in a classical style).
Gemma has collaborated with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic 10/10 Ensemble, The Lancashire Sinfonietta, The Goldberg Ensemble and The London Sinfonietta, also winning the Young New Comer award in 2007. She has performed sax all over the world on luxury cruise ships and has toured China, UK, Europe and performed at The Edinburgh & Prague Fringe Festivals with The National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain.
Gemma’s versatility as a musician has given her the opportunity to perform in ensembles as diverse as sax quartets, big bands, party bands, chamber orchestras and horn sections for pop/funk/rock music and as a solo headline act.
