The requirements for entertainment technicians vary from vessel to vessel. Smaller vessels may just require one technician where experience and versatility is particularly important. Knowledge of intelligent lighting systems and live audio experience in a corporate environment is sometimes best compared to this role. Larger vessels will have a technical team of up to 25 plus. Automated System Riggers
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Set up, repair, operation, testing and maintenance of stage equipment and stage sets.
Good show and safety knowledge.
Management skills
Knowledge of audio, lighting, video, carpertry, metal work and rigging.
Knowledge of computer entertainment protocols.
Video Programmers
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Programming, operation and maintenance of video systems, paging, TV network and satellite feeds.
Maintenance and setup of video projection devices.
Video production and video editing.
Live broadcast
SFX Technicians
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Installation, set up, operation and maintenance of pyrotechnics and special effect systems.
Control, storage and use of pyrotechnic special effects.
Knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, manual and automated control devices.
Lighting Technicians
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Knowledge of show control systems.
Programming, maintenance and operation of intelligent lighting boards.
Knowledge of system tied to the show control including audio, video, rigging, and effects.
General Technicians
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Set up, repair, operation and maintenance of stage equipment.
Assist with equipment load in and load outs, tests and changes.
Working knowledge of computer and entertainment protocols.
Basic experience with sound, light and stage management.
Technical Stage Managers
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Managing day-to-day operations.
Good motivational skills, complete show reports.
Ensure safety is observed at all times.
Strong organization skills.
Strong eye for detail.
Costume Technicians
Responsibilities / Qualities Includes:
Organizing, storing, cleaning, repair and upkeep of all costumes.
Operates sewing machine for repairs and alterations.
